Tapiwa Jeannie Shanda
I will start with a disclaimer here. This is the first time I have listened to this artist. Thanks to my partner in crime Mumhanzi Media for throwing this into our fray. Gosh, what a talent she is! Her Twitter does not seem very active, but do show the girl some love after you have listened to the tracks. The first one, Shanda is exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a battlecry for the dreamers. Those who know what they want to achieve and set out to do whatever it takes to make sure they get to that destination. Her vocals sit fairly well with the instrumental that they move along with. Shout out to Thazanova for the production.
Tapiwa Jeannie On You
On the second track, Tapiwa Jeannie enlists the services of Vic Enlisted for the production. Judging from the resulting track, he was just the man for the job. As the track promised, she really did “put it down on us.” This is a love track on an upper tempo beat. She promises to wholly love whatever lucky bastard she wrote this for.
As a first time listener, I will definitely say that she has an audience in me. Hopefully, these are sentiments that you will share. It is a truly special feeling to see gifted songbirds come on the scene. We support Tapiwa Jeannie and her art, and hope to see more and more content coming from her. As a genre, I have heard similar tracks referred to as Afro Pop, all I know is this is pretty dope! See what I did there? Pardon my humour. Drop us a comment below to let us know what you think about the track and the artist. Share these tracks as well.
